Do you think you have the BEST tamales in town? Does your Abuela, Tía, Neighbor, Cousin, Barber, Mail-Carrier or Dog Walker claim their tamales can't be beat?! 

Well, Needs Inc. wants to be the judge of that! (With the help of our celebrity panel of judges and our community's votes!)

How does it work? 

Individual Community Members can enter this competition for FREE!!

Contestants will Provide the Following:

• 14 tamales for judging (2 tamales for tasting and one dozen to auction, if placed in top 3)
• 2 dozen hot and ready to eat tamales for the community to sample (We'll provide the sample cups, you provide the heated containers!)
• As many dozen (and half-dozen) tamales as you’d like to SELL to the community during the event! These tamales can be frozen or fresh and ready to eat! (This is an opportunity for YOU to make some holiday money while helping us raise funds for the food pantry!)
• We ask that individual contestants donate 10% of their tamale sales to Needs Inc. to help us feed families for the holidays!

We will have one overall People's Choice winner, determined by the highest number of ticketed votes from our community, while our panel of celebrity Judges will award a 1st and 2nd Place in each of these categories below (Minus the "Sweet" Category, there will only be one overall sweet tamale winner):

  • Beef
• Red
  • Pork
  • Beef
• Meatless
  • Vegan or Vegetarian Tamales
• Sweet (Only 1 winner, this category only)
  • Any "dessert" style tamales
• Non-Traditional
  • This is the category for your unique tamale creations that don't fall under the above categories. Do you make Venison tamales? Duck? Chicken? Cracker Jack? Enter it here!
