The Shine Project Foundation is continuing one of our most popular and anticipated free special needs family events – The Beach Fun Days Series! This series kicks off on September 16th at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. Come out and join us as a Shine Community Volunteer or a Shine Peer Buddy Volunteer on one or all of the days.  Based on your interest you can volunteer on one of our teams: Greeter and Food Team, Sand and Shore Team, Water Team, and Set up or Clean up team.  No experience necessary unless you are participating as part of the Water team (experienced surfers and or swimmers) 1. Greet and Food Team- You will assist with greeting, assisting families onto the beach, and or checking in guests.  You will assist with sharing information about The Shine Project Foundation, setting up and serving food for lunch service.  (at least 5 needed)2. Sand and Shore Team- Peers encouraged to volunteer for this position.  You will assist with accompanying,  interacting, and guiding participants to the different beach activities such as beach games, water play, and surfing.  You will also be their cheerleader as they surf. (at least 15 needed)3. Water Team-  You will assist  in either Deep water or Mid water to catch waves with our participants.  Deep water will take each participant out on the board to the lineup and ride with them to shore.  Midwater will accompany the water team leader and participant out to help get the him or her on the board safety.  Then, you will ensure that they ride in safety to shore by guiding or catching them when they end. (at least 15 needed)4. Set up and Clean up Team-  You will assist with setting and breaking down up our tents, games, flags, chairs, umbrellas, and etc. on the beach.  You will also assist with trash disposal.  (at least 5 needed) No limit on volunteers, the more support, the better!  Bring your friends and family to help our special needs families to SHINE!  *One registration per volunteer.
