Membership Categories

1. Legislative Leader Membership: Available to current Black legislators currently serving in an elected leadership role within your state legislative body (President of the Senate, President pro tem of the Senate, Speaker of the House or Assembly, Speaker pro tem, Majority Leader and Assistant Leader, Majority Caucus Chair and Vice Chair, Majority Whip and Deputy Whip, Minority Leader and Assistant Leader, Minority Caucus Chair and Vice Chair, Minority Whip and Deputy Whip, and Committee Chair)
2. Legislator Membership: Open to former Black legislative leaders and other state legislators, the Legislator Members will benefit from a robust support system, professional development resources, and opportunities to engage in policy discussions and advocacy efforts. This membership level offers a platform to share best practices, participate in workshops, and contribute to collective legislative efforts aimed at advancing equity and justice.
3. Legislative Staff Membership: The Legislative Staff membership is available to individuals who work as aides, advisors, and staff members for Black legislators. This membership provides access to professional development opportunities, networking events, and resources to support the crucial work legislative staff perform. Members will have the chance to connect with peers, learn from seasoned professionals, and enhance their skills to serve their legislators and communities better.
4. Community Partner Membership: The Community Partner membership is intended for organizations and individuals who are committed to supporting the mission of the Black Legislative Leaders Network. This includes community activists, nonprofit leaders, and advocacy groups. Members will collaborate with legislators on key issues, participate in policy initiatives, and gain access to events and resources that help amplify their impact in the community. This membership fosters a strong alliance between legislators and community advocates to drive systemic change.
5. Corporate Membership: The Corporate membership is designed for businesses and corporations that wish to support and engage with the Black Legislative Leaders Network. Corporate members will have the opportunity to sponsor events, participate in networking activities, and collaborate on policy initiatives that align with their corporate social responsibility goals. This membership level provides a platform for corporations to demonstrate their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion while building meaningful relationships with Black legislative leaders.
