Winter Farm School | Age 3 - Kindergarten

At Farm School, nature is the classroom and the teacher. Children will expand their joy of learning as they care for the animals, tend to the gardens, and explore native Ohio habitats.  From seed to table, Farm Schooler's will participate in age-appropriate farming activities, engaging all of their senses, and gaining a deeper understanding of where their food comes from.  Winter Farm School Fridays have a highlighted focus on the maple sugaring process, allowing kids to tap a tree, taste freshly collected sap, observe the evaporation process up close, and sample the pure, sticky, sweet syrup. Farm School will support grade level Ohio Academic Standards. Check with your district about Alternative Learning Experience credit for attending Farm School in place of a traditional school day. This is due at least one week prior to your scheduled Farm School session. If you registered for multiple Farm School days, you only need to fill this out prior to your first day of the season. If you registered multiple children, you will need to fill the form out individually for each child. Medication Form: If you child requires Stratford staff to administer medication while they're attending Farm School, please fill out and bring the <a href="https://stratfordecologicalcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Request-for-Administration-of-Medication.pdf" target="_blank">Request for Administration of Medication Form</a>.  What to Bring: Please see the <a href="https://stratfordecologicalcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Farm-School-Gear-List-1.pdf" target="_blank">gear list</a> for everything to bring to ensure your child has an amazing time at Farm School! Please also pack a <a href="https://stratfordecologicalcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Trash-Free-Lunch-Instructions.pdf" target="_blank">trash-free snack</a>. You'll also need to bring the <a href="https://stratfordecologicalcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Request-for-Administration-of-Medication.pdf" target="_blank">Medication Form</a>, if applicable. Weather Policy: This is a rain or shine program.  Please dress for the weather.  In the case of severe weather, we will be inside until it passes, but don’t worry...we have plenty of engaging and interactive indoor activities in the case of inclement weather.  Cancellation Policy: We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we strive to be flexible and accommodating. In the event that you need to cancel your registration, please be aware of our cancellation policy. Cancellations must be made at least two weeks before the scheduled Farm School session to receive a refund. Unfortunately, if a cancellation is made with less than a two-week notice, we won't be able to issue a refund, but please still notify us so we know not to expect your child. We sympathize with situations where children become sick, and we kindly request that you keep your child home and notify us as soon as possible.
