Blacksmithing Class at Glidden Homestead

Intro blacksmith classes are one-on-one and are held during our open hours for the museum (every Sunday, 12-4 pm) at the Glidden Homestead, 921 W. Lincoln Highway, DeKalb. The cost is $75 for a four-hour session and starts with the basics. You will create a small piece to take home. The class is taught by Homestead lead blacksmith Marty O'Connor.

There is a secondary course if you are interested in continuing your studies.

Students must complete two classes through the Homestead before signing up to volunteer.

Classes must be scheduled in advance through Homestead executive director Jessi Haish LaRue by emailing jessi@gliddenhomestead.org or calling 815-756-7904.

The class cost supports our operations as a non-profit museum.
