Community Cat Program (with transport)

We are happy to offer transportation, and scheduling of spay/neuter and vaccines (to include documentation) for free roaming cats in our community for $5.00. Our partners at the Humane Society of St George has a qualified and compassionate team on board that will preform the surgery for just $25.00! Total per cat is $30.  If you have been caring for strays or feral cats and need help trapping we can loan you a trap and show you how to use it, trap train and set the trap, or come and set the trap for you. If you can put a cat/cats in a carrier we can loan you carriers if you don't have any. Carriers are much preferred because they take up less space in the car and we don't have to trap. See below for type of carrier. This program is not for pets, but if one has become very friendly while you have been caring for it and you will be keeping it as a pet please be advised that THEY WILL EAR TIP IT AT TIME OF SURGERY (a clip of the tip of one ear under anesthesia, Humane Society takes a bigger clip than Best Friends, you may not like the result so be sure you're ok with the larger ear clip - it is a minor irritant to the cat while it heals). This is so that if the cat should be caught in a trap in the future it will be identified as already having been neutered. For females this means not being cut open again! Please, no sick or injured cats (unless the injury has been seen and treated by a vet and is healing, we will need details) or cats with diarrhea, wait until they are well.  For a total of $30.00 per cat, we can help prevent overpopulation of feral felines on your property, while also ensuring safety for you and your family from illnesses! * Kittens must be at least 2 months of age (2lbs minimum)* No soft-sided carriers (we can loan you hard-sided carriers) and only 1 cat per carrier. * We pick up or meet you very early, about 6am, in order to have all the cats to the Clinic by 8am - We will drop off or meet you after 5pm* Please be prompt and available when we come to pick up so that we can stay on our schedule, we can have up to 6 cats to pick up. * We are always looking for volunteers to pick up the cats in St. George in the pm and drive them back to Colorado City/ Cane Beds.
