This year's Carmelite retreat will be held at the Our Lady of Peace Retreat Center in Beaverton Oregon, with Brother James Lindsay of the Carmelite House of Studies in Mt. Angel returning as retreat master.
Our Lady of Peace offers comfortable rooms in a peaceful setting ideal for quiet contemplation. This retreat will as in years past offer Mass, Confession, Spiritual Talks, and the opportunity to get to know other area Carmelites.
Rooms at the retreat house feature a bed, desk, and sink. Bathrooms are shared between pairs of rooms (except for rooms shared by spouses which have a private bathroom). If you wish to share your bathroom with a particular individual, please let us know. Rooms will be assigned so that men and women do not share a bathroom.
Guests are asked to bring their own towels and toiletries (soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc.).
Rooms do not have phones or TV. Wifi is available, but guests are encouraged to 'unplug' as much as possible.
Note that (as is the case every year) this retreat will not be listed on the Our Lady of Peace website until later this year, to prevent it from filling up before our area Carmelites have had a chance to register.
Guests will receive a confirmation email after registering. Guests may cancel without penalty via a written request sent prior to July 23, 2024.
