The DC Dragon Boat Festival will happen on Saturday, May 18, 2024 (rain date: 6/15/2024) at Thompsons Boat Center (address: 2900 Virginia Ave NW, Washington, DC 20037). This festival usually draws about 2,000 attendees (participants, non-participants including families, friends, and sponsors) each year.  In 2017, we established our own deaf and hard-of-hearing team, Deaf Dragon, the first of its kind, and we had 20 deaf and hard of hearing participants. We finished in 1st place in our division for the race and had a great time collaborating with other Asian non-profit organizations. We won 1st place again in 2018 and hope to repeat the experience in 2024! Registration fee for the Dragon Boat Festival is: <ul><li style="width:100%;margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;box-sizing:inherit">Members: $35 (race fee and food) + $15 (shirt) = $50 </li><li style="width:100%;margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;box-sizing:inherit">Non-members: $45 (race fee and food) + $15 (shirt) = $60</li></ul>Registration fee includes race fee, lunch, two boat practices, and team 2024 GWADA t-shirt. If you already have a 2024 GWADA t-shirt, then you do NOT have to buy an additional shirt, and your fee is reduced by $15. We will have two practices on April 20 and 28 (at 12-1:30 pm) at the Wharf DC to learn how to paddle and prepare for the big race.
