Join The Rose Garden on Saturday, June 3, 2023 for a family-friendly field trip, which includes private group access to Huntington Gardens, a museum talk and workshop inspired by the exhibition “The Hilton Als Series: Njideka Akunyili Crosby.”
We'll begin in the gallery with a brief talk about Los Angeles–based artist Njideka Crosby’s collage-based paintings and ends with a workshop, where children can create their own self-portrait collage exploring themes of identity, history, and place.
All materials are provided, but children are welcome to bring additional pictures and mementos for their collage that hold special meaning for them. Ideal for children 7 and up.
The workshop portion of the trip will likely take place between 9am-12pm afterwards families are welcome to stay to explore more of the grounds.
This is a donation-based event and your support will go toward our crowdfunding efforts. A minimum $20 donation per family is greatly appreciated as it helps us plan more events like this and more!
