Morgan Stanley duPont Manual Alumni Luncheon:&nbsp; Thursday June 25, 2026. &nbsp;Social Hour 11am Lunch service begins at noon. We are pleased &nbsp;to have Terry Gibson, Master Gardner as our guest speaker. Also, the Class of 1964 is hosting a collective birthday party at the luncheon, select our special ticket to be seated with the group! Terry Gibson, a 1964 graduate of Manual and a 1968 graduate of Western Kentucky University. Shortly after college, he volunteered for the draft and served two years in the U.S. Army, including one year in Vietnam as a combat medic assigned to an ambush unit. During his service, he was awarded two Purple Hearts. Following his military service, Mr. Gibson spent three years teaching before beginning a long career in the insurance industry. He was first hired by fellow Manual alumnus and former teacher and coach Neal Skeeters at The Equitable Life Insurance Company, and later became a State Farm agent, where he owned and operated his own agency for 33 years until retiring in 2011. A lifelong gardener, Mr. Gibson&rsquo;s roots trace back to his parents&rsquo; working farms in Albany, Kentucky. He became a certified Master Gardener through the University of Kentucky in 2005 and has since delivered more than 100 presentations on urban backyard gardening and sustainable food practices. His particular focus is on tomatoes, especially heirloom varieties. Known for his engaging style, Mr. Gibson brings both expertise and humor to his presentations. As he puts it, he enjoys talking about &ldquo;maters, taters, and beans,&rdquo; and invites attendees to &ldquo;sit back, grab hold, and enjoy the ride&rdquo; through the practical and rewarding world of gardening as we age.
