Morgan Stanley duPont Manual Alumni Luncheon:&nbsp; &nbsp; Social Hour 11am Lunch service begins at noon. We are pleased &nbsp;to have Dr. Michael Newman as our guest speaker.&nbsp; Dr. Michael Newman has served as principal of duPont Manual High School since February 22, 2021. Now in his sixth school year leading Manual, he brings more than 25 years of experience in education and educational leadership.Prior to joining Manual, Dr. Newman served as principal of Early College Western High School from 2013 to 2020. He later served as Commissioner of Professional Licensing for the Kentucky Public Protection Cabinet before returning to education to lead Manual.Dr. Newman earned his bachelor&rsquo;s degree in science and secondary education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, completed graduate studies in educational leadership and administration, and earned his doctorate in Urban Education and Leadership from the University of Louisville.During Dr. Newman&rsquo;s tenure, Manual has continued to advance its longstanding mission of Diversity, Tradition and Excellence. In 2025, Manual was selected by the Kentucky Department of Education as one of just 11 Spotlight Schools statewide, recognizing exceptional academic performance, innovative practices and commitment to student success. Manual also continues to be recognized among Kentucky&rsquo;s highest-ranked public and magnet high schools.Manual students and programs have earned significant state and national recognition during his tenure. The Science Olympiad team captured five consecutive Kentucky state championships from 2021 through 2025; Manual has produced a U.S. Presidential Scholar and numerous National Merit Scholars; YPAS programs have earned national recognition in the performing arts; and Manual students have continued to excel nationally in journalism, academics and the arts.
