Mr. Selwin Ray and Mr. Jay Garcia will be your child’s basketball coaches for the 2023/2024Winter Season. We will play in YMCA Competition league. We are very excited to be able to workwith your child these next few months. Our coaching philosophy and focus will not be WINS &amp; LOSSES with our players/team. Our maingoal is to teach basketball skills/concepts. We will be focusing on ball handling, shooting, teamconcepts, sportsmanship, and how to be a good teammate on and off the court. If your childwants to maximize their opportunity as a basketball player, they will need to spend time workingon their skills outside of team practice. We will practice two (2) times a week (times and locationsare subject to change) and any extra time they spend working on ball handling, shooting, is abonus for their development. PRACTICE INFORMATION:– Venue: Hanshew/ Golden View Junior High– Monday  6:00 - 8:00 PM– Wednesday 6:00 - 8:00 PM PLAYER, PARENT, AND TEAM EXPECTATIONS Games are usually scheduled on Saturday and on occasion Thursday. Each Player must be able to commit to all games and practices on schedule. If your child is going to be late or missing these sessions, please notify the Coaching Staff. Each Player will need to bring their own ball to practice. Please respect the Coaching Staff’s time outside of basketball. PLEASE PICK UP YOUR CHILD ON TIME FOR PRACTICES AND GAMES. Main Goal is to Teach life skills through athletics, build basketball skills, get BETTER and have FUN! BENEFITS INCLUDED IN LEAGUE FEE: $400.00 for YMCA Competition league. – Two, 1.5 hrs practices– YMCA League entry fees– Team uniforms– Practice Equipment– Snacks

Playing Time: Our goal is to ensure Player gets as much playing time as possible within their skills. Iunderstand as a Player, I am not guaranteed equal playing time. The Coaching Staff will determine playingtime and lineups. As a Parent, I will be respectful of all decisions made by the Coaching Staff. Playing may be reduced if aPlayer has not attended practice, is not demonstrating good sportsmanship, respect towards teammates andCoaching staff. 2. Questions or Concerns: I understand, as a Parent or Player, that at any time I have any questions or concernswith the basketball program, we will contact both the Coaching Staff, as soon as possible, preferably an in-personmeeting with both Player and Parent present. Attendance – Practice: We expect all Players to be dressed and dropped off 5 minutes before practice.Team practice in the gym is ONLY for Players and Coaching staff. Parents are welcome to stay and wait inthe lobby area outside of the gym. We are aware there may be circumstances that arise that cause you to misspractice, please inform the Coaching Staff in advance (MOJO, text) as soon as possible. 4. Attendance – Game: We expect all Players to be dressed and ready 15 minutes before game time. This willallow the Coaching Staff to prepare for lineups and Players to have proper warm up. We are aware there may becircumstances that arise that cause you to miss games, please inform (preferred call) the Coaching Staff inadvance, as soon as possible.5. Parents: As a Parent of an AK PRIME Player, I understand that I will not coach my child during practices orgames. I will show good sportsmanship through positive reinforcement and Player encouragement during games.Positive spectator etiquette is encouraged from Parents and Players families during games. Please DONOT disrespect Players, Coaching Staff, Referees, and families.6. Positive Environment, Attitude, and Sportsmanship: As a Player for AK Prime, I will always be positive,encouraging, respectful to my teammates and Coaching staff, and always display good sportsmanship during theseason. This will also apply to Parents for any social media posting. 7. Minor (Child) Photo Release Consent: As the Parent or Legal Guardian of my Child, grant AK Primepermission to use the photographs for any publicity, advertising, social media, and website content.
