UPDATE: The Painted Mustang Run will take place on Friday, September 27; however, the online tickets sales will close on Tuesday, September 24 at 11:55 pm.  The Painted Musting Run (PMR) is a 5K run for Madison Middle School students during school hours. We recommend your race shirt or another white shirt, if you were to hoping to keep your awesome race shirt pristine and clean! Otherwise, please keep in mind this is a fun event. Think “public school dress code” kind of covered. Just be aware that whatever you wear will get colored. You might want to bring a towel or a change of clothes. What if I am not a runner? Not a problem! Walk, run dance, jog, crawl or prance! The objective is to finish the 5K painted head to toe. How will you paint me? You will painlessly be pelted with colored cornstarch. There will be no paintball guns or other arsenal involved. We will aim low. We hear that in other races where colored powder gets tossed casually at runners, some runners “opt to wear goggles or glasses for their eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for their mouths.” Run toward the middle of the raceway if you want to minimize your color (but why would you want to do that?) What is included with my Painted Mustang Run registration? In addition to the cool shirt (and let’s be honest…. who doesn’t want a shirt), you will receive a packet of color and the satisfaction of supporting improvements at Madison Middle School. What do we do with the registration fee? Surely a shirt does not cost $40! Exactly. Proceeds from the race will go to technology improvements at Madison Middle School. Did we mention that this will ensure you will not be hit up by any MMS students to buy magazines, cookie dough or some other for – sale item that makes you secretly dread seeing children during the school year? Is this a street race? Not really…. you will enjoy a nice morning stroll through school property and Sooner Park. Is the run timed? Nope. This is a completely unofficial race/run on an unofficial course with unofficial people. We are all about fun and physical activity. Are there refunds? No-sorry. We will have already spent your registration fee on your t-shirt, color and holding the rest for teachers/students’ needs. Can someone else run in my spot if I back out? We can’t imagine why in the world you’d want to do that! Nevertheless, we are not sure we can actually get this sorted out with the registration in advance.
