As a climber and a follower of Christ, how do those parts of your life connect?  Are there any ways to integrate your faith in Christ with your love for climbing and the climbing community you’re a part of?  Does the Bible provide any insights or principles we deploy in reaching others with the good news of Jesus through our interest in climbing?Are you already leading a CFC movement and looking for more training &amp; support? Climbers for Christ is offering a weekend retreat focused specifically on helping you interact with these questions with other climbers from a Biblical perspective! We’re partnering with our friends from the Wilderness Ministry Institute to provide three days of Biblical content, discussions, and practical ideas to help you confidently bridge your faith in Christ with your love for climbing and other climbers in your community.   We’ll explore a theology of wilderness and adventure with specific application and examples geared toward climbers.  We’ll discuss how Jesus taught people and discuss what a Biblical perspective on experiential learning can look like.  We’ll consider what disciple making looks like and how climbing provides a unique and powerful opportunity you can use as you live the love of Christ in your own community.   Join us, won’t you? Logistics:Date: March 8-10, 2024 (Noon start on Friday the 8th) Location: Private cabin in Black Butte, Oregon (Near Sisters/Bend) Cost: $150 (Covers lodging, meals and instruction; please let us know if you need assistance as scholarship help may be available.)   Schedule: Beginning after lunch on Friday, and finishing in the early afternoon on Sunday.  Accommodations &amp; Personal needs: Bedding, towels and household items are provided.  Bring your personal clothing appropriate for cold spring weather, hiking shoes/boots that can be used in snow, and your basic climbing kit (harness, shoes, helmet, belay device, etc.) for some potential top rope climbing on Sunday.  ACCOMMODATIONS ARE LIMITED, SO WE WILL CLOSE REGISTRATIONS ONCE THE CABIN IS FULL.  SIZE WILL BE 8-12 PARTICIPANTS DEPENDING ON HOW MANY COUPLES / GENDER OF APPLICANTS. Rooms will be assigned, including the possibility of a bunk room with several people (of the same gender).  Food: Please communicate any dietary restrictions / preferences before February 20th. Flight information: If you are flying in, please fly to Redmond, OR on Friday morning, and depart from Redmond on Sunday evening.  {While Portland airport is often cheaper, we cannot provide airport pickups/dropoffs. We can connect participants who are interested in a carpool with enough advance notice.} We’re excited to further equip our community with Biblical foundations and practical ideas you can use as a Climber for Christ!
