On August 29th, a gray pit bull was found wandering the streets of Waterbury. It was very evident that she recently had given birth. She was so sad wandering the area looking for her babies. Once BARC CT heard about this poor abandoned mama they immediately got her off then streets. A reward was offered for the safe return of her puppies. The next day a call came in. The puppies had been abandoned in an apartment and were discovered when a tenant heard their cries. It was a magical reunion that was caught on video and became a nationwide feel good sensation. There is no doubt that The Waterbury Five would have lost their lives if they were not found quickly. Further, they could have been used for fighting or breeding if fallen into the wrong hands. Their painting is titled “Grateful Paws” and will bring much needed funds to help other dogs just like them.
