
Overview:
Join NISD Counseling in a virtual workshop where we consider mental health diagnosing from a non-pathologizing perspective which centers the client as the expert in their own life. Drawing from social constructionist and neurobiological theories, the speakers will discuss current and evolving Narrative Therapy practices, guiding participants on collaborative approaches to empower clients in their pursuit of wellness.
Learning Objectives:
- At the end of this course, participants will be able to identify three Narrative principles when collaborating with a client regarding their diagnosis.
- At the end of this course, participants will be able to identify three concerns and critiques of the DSM based on Narrative principles.
- At the end of this course, participants will identify and apply three examples of practices a therapist might use when participating in consultations which include diagnosis.
