You are invited to come connect with other faith leaders asking: How can our congregations use our resources to be good neighbors?
Good Acres is building a network of faith leaders with a mission to be Good Neighbors in our city & who are exploring ways to creatively steward our resources and property toward this call.
Join us for monthly gatherings as we share:
- STORY: Spark imagination through visiting local projects and hearing from leaders
- RESOURCES: Connect to with tools, workshops and events
- RELATIONSHIP: Build a trusted network of relationships
Our September gathering will be hosted at Emanuel United Methodist Church as we hear from Pastora Maribel Vasquez. Maribel will share about Emanuel's presence in their westside neighborhood and the vision for Emanuel Village, an affordable housing project on the empty lot across from their space. We will continue the conversation about the variety of ways our congregations can engage in housing solutions and other systems that affect our neighbors.
If you'd like to do some learning prior to our time: watch Everyone Needs a Home and read the executive summary of San Antonio's Strategic Housing Implementation Plan (SHIP). (No pressure!)
