2024 Walktober Registration

Welcome to the registration page for the Garfield County 2024 Walktober Challenge!  This community-wide steps challenge is for businesses, organizations and community members to compete in friendly competition & encouragement to achieve their healthy living goals.  


DETAILS:

  • The challenge will run throughout the month of October.
  • Steps will be easily tracked through the Pacer for Teams app (included in registration fee).
    • IMPORTANT NOTE: All steps MUST be tracked using a compatible device (ex: smartphone, watches).  Manual entry of steps will not be allowed due to grand prizes being offered during this challenge.  More details & a list of devices is available by clicking HERE.
  • Facebook group for motivation, events & prize announcements!
  • For added accountability, you may create a team of up to 5 people to partner with during the month! 

PRIZES:

  • RAFFLE DRAWING:  Get your recommended 70k steps in each week for up to 4 chances to enter our end of challenge raffle basket! Each week of 70,000 steps = 1 entry into the drawing. One winner will be chosen at random following the challenge
  • INDIVIDUAL GRAND PRIZE: $165 voucher to Brown's Shoe Fit for new running shoes*.  Awarded to the individual with the most steps throughout the month of October.  Sponsored by: Brown's Shoe Fit (*voucher for one pair up to $165).
  • TEAM GRAND PRIZE: $50 voucher to Brown's Shoe Fit for new running shoes to each member on the overall team winner.  Sponsored by: Brown's Shoe Fit
  • WEEKLY PRIZES:  Awarded every week to the team* with highest average number of stepsthat week (*teams are eligible to win a weekly prize once per challenge).

RULES:

  • Teams consist of 2-5 participants.  Teams are eligible for the Team Grand Prize as well as Weekly Prizes. 
  • Individuals are only eligible for the Individual Grand Prize. 
  • Prize winners must be registered using a valid email address provided on the registration form.  Participants who are not registered using a valid email address prior to October 1 are not eligible for prizes.  

Zeffy contribution not required, select "Other" on order summary for no additional charge.


* This project is a collaboration of TSET Healthy Living Program serving Garfield County, Garfield County Health Department, Garfield County Healthy Living Collaborative, OSU Extension Office, with Rural Health Projects serving solely as the fiscal agent for this event.

Each registration includes ONE registered walker, access to Pacer app to log your miles, inclusion in motivational Facebook group and prizes throughout the month of October! T-Shirt included for all who are registered by 9/15.
