Please join us for a {virtual} Fireside Chat moderated by <a href="https://www.angelatucker.com/" style="color:green;text-decoration:inherit;user-select:auto;font-weight:700;box-sizing:inherit">Angela Tucker</a>, where guest speakers will share about their experiences. Angela Tucker is the founder and Executive Director of the Adoptee Mentoring Society. Her debut book, "<a href="https://www.angelatucker.com/book" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color:green;text-decoration:inherit;user-select:auto;font-weight:700;box-sizing:inherit" target="_blank">YOU SHOULD BE GRATEFUL: Stories of Race Identity, and Transracial Adoption</a>," is available now! Over the past decade, she has mentored over 200 adoptees. Our guest speakers for this Fireside Chat are:<ul><li style="box-sizing:inherit;font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">Harper (he/ him, age 17), lives in Rochester, New York with his family of 7 (plus his dog, Scout). Harper is a junior in high school and plays football as well as indoor and outdoor track. Athletics are what he is most passionate about, and he loves being with his friends and family.</li><li style="box-sizing:inherit;font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">Mimi (she/ her, age 16), was adopted from Taiwan as an infant. She returned to Taiwan to meet her biological family twice, when she was 7 and 9-years old. Mimi is a rower and loves to advocate for mental health. She likes being creative and going thrifting for clothes.</li><li style="box-sizing:inherit;font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">T (he/ him, age 14), a teen adoptee from Ethiopia who enjoys dogs, fishing, music, and learning about World War II.</li></ul>You're welcome to come with questions for the guests. The Adoptee Mentoring Society has signed the Ethical Storytelling Pledge and works hard to ensure the guest speakers don't leave feeling overexposed, used or harmed in any way.
