Wonderful food, delightful music, and gifted storytellers will be the setting for the Historical Society’s Taste of History.
The event will be held at the First Baptist Church Welcome Center, 25 Church Street in downtown Cleveland Georgia.
The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with southern appetizers, Bluegrass music, and a wonderful array of silent auction items. During this timeframe, former Governor Nathan Deal will be selling and signing copies of his new children's book, Veto, The Governor's Cat. This book would make a great gift for all ages!
Former Governor Nathan Deal will begin the opening ceremonies. Local historians Emory Jones and Garrison Baker will entertain the crowd with tidbits of history and folklore about White County. A live auction will follow with sought after items including a handmade quilt, an original Judy Bynum painting, two Meaders’ pottery jugs, and four limited edition John Kollock prints.
Tickets may also be purchased at the Courthouse Museum Gift Shop during the hours of Wednesday-Saturday 10-3 by cash, check or credit card. Tickets are $80 for one or $150 for two. Full table sponsorships are available for $750.00 which includes seating for 8 and event recognition.
