One Shrimp Boat

Stella Maris Explorers, in partnership with St. Michael Catholic Church, is hosting a Children's Boat Building Workshop on June 15th in preparation for the Biloxi Blessing of the Fleet. The Blessing of the Fleet Committee hosts a Shrimp Boat Contest each year (this will be the 16th year) for children in the community ages 5-12. Over the past handful of years, the committee has seen a decrease in participation in this event. Msgr. Dominick asked Stella Maris Explorers to get involved and help boost participation.  ﻿This event will be free of charge for the children attending and all supplies and materials needed to construct the paper/cardboard shrimp boats will be provided along with art instructors to help.  This is not a drop-off event and a parent or responsible adult is asked to stay to assist.  The Workshop will held from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, June 15th in the Family Life Center at St. Michael Catholic Church.

On behalf of the Stella Maris Explorers community and St. Michael Catholic Church, we are all excited to have the sanctuary full of shrimp boats once again this shrimp season.
