Care Rituals for Fall Magic - November

Event closed

Join We Still Move for an afternoon of healing arts and gentle movement as we prepare for winter!

Care Rituals for Fall Magic is a space to provide low-cost care services by and for our Black and Indigenous Women, Trans, Intersex and Gender Non-conforming (BIWOC and TIGNCBIPOC) activists and organizers of color from gender justice and intersecting movements.

This community care clinic is a space to book sessions in personal and collective healing modalities including facials, cupping, acupuncture, tarot, reiki, sound bath, and movement. Seed new rituals, rejuvenate old ones, and nurture foundations for everyday magic with personal and collective practices for whole-self nourishment ✨

It will be held in-person at Pieter Performance Space in Lincoln Heights, and we'll be centering ancestral healing practices and embodied movement.

*Practitioners will also be accepting tips via cash or payment app!

MASKS REQUIRED: High-filtration masks are required (N95, KN95, KF94, etc.). Cloth masks or surgical masks will not suffice. We will have masks available at the door. We recommend bringing one that you are comfortable wearing. Participants are welcome to take mask breaks outside during this event.

Air purifiers at this event are provided by AIRGASMIC - a volunteer-run mutual aid group making our safe spaces safer by lending out air purifiers at community events--for free!

Send donations their way as well!

Info on INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS:

• Soothsaying Card Readings with Sanyu "My readings illuminate the bigger perspective and get to the core concerns of what is going on for who you are in the moment. The cards choose the client and the reading reveals what you need to know. I offer recordings of all readings upon request."

• Ayurvedic Facials w/Kansa Wand with Mirna - The Kansa Wand Facial , revered for its detoxifying abilities, offers a soothing experience through gentle circular movements that warm the skin, effectively expelling toxins. Enriched with copper, the Kansa metal not only aids in detoxification but also promotes an increase in circulation. Will also be incorporating an Ayurvedic facial mask, followed by toner, and facial oil. Plus handmade creations!

We Still Move (formerly Critical Mass Dance Company) cultivates wellbeing, resilience, and joy through movement and the healing arts. Our trauma-informed work is by and for women, gender-expansive and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals from Black, Indigenous and Communities of color. Our offerings celebrate both ancestral wisdom and emergent practices, creating embodied spaces to reconnect with ourselves and each other.

Founded as CMDC in 2010,  Sophia Kozak (she/her/ella) and a dynamic group of activist women envisioned a space for self and collective care through dance. Their embodied movement emerged into Dance From The Heart (DFTH)--a moving meditation practice inspired by the elements for affirming individual and collective visions.

Since then, we've co-created dozens of free/low-cost DFTH programs designed to support the collective care of our communities. In 2024 we transitioned into our new name as a reflection of our founding and enduring commitments to collective dreaming and liberation.
