DATES: Saturday March 9th- Sunday March 10th

WHAT: We will be going to Antietam Creek Campground for ONE night of camping. Plan is to go on a historical hike at Antietam Battlefield. Then head to Shepherdstown, West Virginia for some shopping and ice cream. 

WE NEED ADULT VOLUNTEERS to chaperone. Please sign up!  All ADULTS for these trips MUST be registered in advance with the troop AND their Youth Protection Training MUST be up to date.

TIMING: 

Drop Off: We will meet at Hereford Park and Ride at 8:00 am Saturday. 

Please pack a brown bag lunch to eat on Saturday. 

Pick Up:  Please plan to pick up your scout at Hereford Park and Ride around noon on Sunday March 10th. Your scout or the responsible parent will notify you of the impending arrival.

COST: $30 for Scouts (covers food & site rental). FREE for adult chaperones.

Camping Packing List:  

Uniform = none

Camp shoes such as crocs or comfy sneakers to change into after hiking

Change of clothing (appropriate for weather forecast)

Change of undergarments 

Outerwear, gloves, hats, long underwear (as appropriate for weather forecast) 

Pajamas (or just wear the next day’s clothing to bed) 

Rain gear  

Mess Kit 

Filled Water bottle 

Flashlight or lantern 

Sleeping bag, sleeping pad, small pillow (check weather and pack appropriate weight bag)

Toiletries

Bug/Sunscreen when seasonally necessary

Wash cloth and small towel 

Hat or bandana 

Scout Handbook with Pens/pencils 

Pocket Knife (only for scouts who have earned totin' chip)

Optional: card games, small first aid kit
