A quick glance at the latest news feed is enough evidence of this. Many individuals who walk through our doors, sit in our seats, and serve on our boards and teams are wounded from sexual abuse and/or altered by sexual trauma. - 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men have been sexually abused- 70% of males and 40% of females are damaged from pornography- The average age of a child's first exposure to pornography is 12 years old - 49% of Christians who admit to viewing porn say they are "comfortable with how much pornography" they consume The enemy is battling for hearts and minds. Now, more than ever, we must address these issues and equip ourselves to effectively help men, women, and youth embrace victory over darkness and find healing and hope in Jesus. He was born into an alcoholic home and suffered the emotional wounds of a difficult childhood. Years later those wounds began to surface and James nearly resigned from pastoral ministry. He instead chose to confront his past and used this new-found freedom in Christ to build a church based on God doing what He does so well – heal the heart. James received his B.A. in Greek from Baylor University and MDIV/DMIN degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He speaks at seminars all over the country and mentors other churches seeking to make similar transitions to the hospital church model. In addition to producing the Fearless Series for Women and The Fearless Series for Men, he also authored Refuge – How “Hospital Church” Ministry Can Change Your Church Forever, and Life Change which is a biblically based twelve-step process for spiritual healing and discipleship.
