Do you know the basic processes to ensure compost meets the regulatory limits? Join us on this webinar to learn the basics about compost manufacturing, different types of composting methods, key things to keep in mind when starting out, and environmental rules. Also, learn about upcoming events and other resources to increase your knowledge and network as you learn more about this popular and growing industry. 


Upon successful completion of this Webinar, attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion via email for 1 Professional Development Hours (PDH), shown on the certificate. This certificate does not automatically qualify you for professional continuing education credits. It is your responsibility to verify that the PDHs from this event are eligible for continuing education purposes for your specific credentials. The certificate is only available to those who register and attend the live Webinar.

Presenter

Jorge Montezuma is a licensed Professional Engineer in NC and Principal Consultant for Wanu Organics PLLC, an organics recycling and composting consulting firm. He has over 13 years of experience working in the public and private sectors. Previously, he worked for Atlas Organics, NC DEQ, Los Angeles County Sanitation, Smith Gardner, and Peace Corps. He has worked on more than 30 composting projects across the country and visited over 100 large and small organics recycling operations. Jorge has served on the Board of Directors for the NC Composting Council and the US Composting Council (USCC) and participated in the development of the USCC Model Zoning Template and Guidelines. He is a contributor to BioCycle Magazine and for over a decade has trained hundreds of composting professionals through the NCCC and Compost Research and Education Foundation’s Compost Operations Training Course in Raleigh, NC each September. Jorge is also a USDA-APHIS Composting SME (Subject Matter Expert) assisting in emergency animal mortality events. Jorge holds engineering degrees from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and NC State University. He lives in Hillsborough, NC.
