Here is Cabot Archery's story.

We’ve been a little quiet here at the shop these last several weeks…our hearts have been heavy. By

now, the whole nation knows the name Corey Comperatore and knows the heroic actions he took on July 13th

at the Trump Rally in Butler, PA to become a human shield protecting the lives of his wife and daughters. His

sacrifice hit a little too close to home for us, in more ways than one. While we did not personally know Corey,

our shop is located only 1.5 miles from his home and the local fire station where he previously served as chief. We are

close in age to Corey and his wife Helen, and we also have 2 cherished young adult daughters. 

His life and his legacy have clearly left an indelible mark on this community, and we are a testament to

how he has impacted even those who never knew him personally.

Over the last few weeks, we have been wrestling with the best way to show our support to Corey’s family. We

wanted to be respectful of the family to give them time and space to grieve. As we move closer toward

Veteran’s Day, it feels like the appropriate time for us to honor Corey and his service along with the many other

American heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We have helped organize this raffle to support Corey’s

family in a very tangible and hopefully meaningful way. While our business is relatively new and still growing

locally, we have leveraged the relationships we have with our vendors across the country to garner wider
