This artwork is portraying how many people who’ve been in the military have a distorted perception of reality post coming home and end to struggle with hyper vigilance. This painting is based off of how my father would has always preferred sitting facing the doors of any diner because he was taught in the army to watch the door because you never know who’s going to come in. It’s heavily based off how the military has impacted my family, and how my dad still struggles with some of the habits he was taught and instilled on him from his time deployed.
