Actually, life IS a walk in the park &mdash; at least for one night! Rolling Hills Music Festival kicks off with an immersive outdoor concert to be enjoyed at your own pace. Make your way through McFarland Park to the sounds of live classical music played by local and regional musicians:&nbsp;<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Ames native Caleb Hans Polashek will dazzle with original solo violin music inspired by Iowa&#39;s natural landscape and moments of everyday life.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Hailing from eastern Iowa, guitarist Abigail Rae will present a mix of historical works and her own compositions.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Des Moines-based Erica Leake McKnight and Steven Kennedy join forces for the flute-guitar set you never knew you needed.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Four Ames string talents form a one-night-only string quartet playing heartwarming tunes: violinists Dekel Luban and Gretchen Theesfield, violist Nathalie Cruden, and cellist Yeil Park.</li></ul>Pack your blanket, a snack, and maybe some bug spray for an evening of music that feels exactly like summer is meant to.

We can&#39;t wait to share some music with you at McFarland Park. Here&#39;s some additional information to help you come prepared:&nbsp; What to bring:- Something to sit on (lawn chair, blanket, etc.)- Water (we plan to have some bottled water available but encourage everyone to bring their own)&nbsp;- Wear comfortable walking shoes- Consider bringing a hat or bug repellant- There will not be any food available on the premises, so consider bringing a snack!&nbsp; About the route:Musicians will be located at four stops along the Touch-A-Life Trail, a 1.51-mile paved loop around a pond. When you arrive, you&#39;ll receive a hand-out that includes a map of the route and who&#39;s playing where. The loop begins just a few steps away from the parking lot, and the trail is relatively flat. All music stops have natural shade, either full or partial.&nbsp; At each stop, musicians will play an approximately 15-minute set. You are welcome to travel the loop at your own pace to enjoy as much or as little music as you&#39;d like. If you&#39;d like to sit while you listen to the music, please set up your chairs or blankets off of the paved trail.&nbsp; Parking:There is a parking lot at the entrance to McFarland Park at <span fr-original-style="color: rgb(31, 31, 31); font-family: Roboto, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: start; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" style="color: rgb(31, 31, 31); font-family: Roboto, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: start; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); box-sizing: inherit;">56461 180th St. In the event that the parking lot is full, additional parking is permitted on 180th St. on the south side&nbsp;of the road.&nbsp; Restrooms:There are portable restrooms available near the entrance and at one location along the route.&nbsp; Photography:Please note that a photographer will be present during this event.
