General Membership

The minimum donation is $10, but we encourage our members to pledge $50 to cover the cost associated with a single standard membership.

This level of membership is for Michigan-based organizations and/or affiliates located outside the cities of Highland Park, Detroit or Hamtramck. This level of membership is for organizations and/or affiliates located outside of Michigan. Organizational members will only get one vote in elections provided by the representative of their choice. Memberships are integral to our work. As a member, you can elect the board of directors, participate in committees to direct different aspects of our work, and steer the organization towards our mission of energy democracy in Highland Park. Your membership dues also sustain our operations and help us maintain autonomy and focus on our mission. We offer a membership option tailored to meet your specific needs. To apply, please complete and submit the membership application form from. Here's some of the basics about Soulardarity membership: DUES: We want Soulardarity to truly represent it's members, and the more we raise from membership donations, the more our priorities will be driven the members directly. Highland Park Resident dues are $10/year. Non-residents are considered General Members, dues are $25/year. Partner Organization Membership Levels (based on residency):<ul><li>Local Org (located in Highland Park, Detroit or Hamtramck)- $100</li><li>Regional Orgs/Affiliates (located in Michigan)- $150</li><li>National/Global Supporters (located outside of Michigan)- $250</li></ul>Members are encouraged to become <a href="http://soulardarity.org/donate" target="_blank">Sustaining Donors</a> and can make monthly contributions at a level that is affordable for them. VOLUNTEERISM: Soulardarity membership is about collective work and responsibility. If we all pull a little weight, we can do exponentially greater work. Members are encouraged to give a little time and talent every month to help our programs, projects, and organizing move forward. EXPIRATION AND RENEWAL: In filling out this form, you will be asked if you would like to auto-renew your membership, which would allow your payment method to be charged again at the same amount one year from the date that you sign up. We are nonpartisan and do not support or oppose any political party or candidate for public office. Any references to public officials or legislation are intended to advance our mission through education, civic engagement, and advocacy on issues, not through political campaigning or electioneering. All activities are conducted in accordance with federal law governing 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations.
