Manuscript consultation with Adam Stumacher

Do you have a short story or essay that you would like to prepare for publication? Adam Stumacher is offering a manuscript consultation on a single work of fiction or nonfiction up to 20 pages in length. The consultation includes line comments throughout the manuscript, a 2-3 page feedback letter, and a 45-minute conversation via Zoom. Adam Stumacher's work has appeared in The New York Times, Granta, Narrative, The Kenyon Review, and others, and his commentaries appear on NPR. He has taught writing at MIT, The Harvard Kennedy School, The University of Wisconsin, and in prisons and community events. His work draws on his experience as a longtime educator and leader in urban schools, as well as his experience as a human rights observer in the West Bank.

Cicely Carew (b. 1982, Los Angeles, CA) is a Boston-based artist, educator, and wellness coach whose multimedia works blur the boundaries between disciplines in an expression of sensory transfiguration and delight. Working from a place of improvisation and spiritual embodiment, Carew’s unique language of abstraction signals the transformative power of joy and liberation. Recent solo exhibitions include the Fuller Craft Museum (forthcoming 2025), ICA Boston (2023), Fitchburg Art Museum (2022), The Commons Provincetown (2021), and Simmons University (2020).

An original drawing by Eben Haines. Eben Haines was born in Boston, MA in 1990, and he received his BFA with honors from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2013. His work investigates the life of objects through works that emphasize the constructed nature of history. Haines’s paintings, drawings, sculptures, and installations employ various techniques and materials to suggest the passage of time and volatility. Recent exhibitions include Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston (2021), Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (2021), and The Royal Society of American Art (2020).

Artwork by Masha Keryan. Masha Keryan is an Armenian American visual artist. She received her BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2016. During her adolescent years, Keryan received academic art training while living in Post-Soviet Armenia (Yerevan) and continued to foster her love of painting by studying under various native artists. Throughout her apprenticeship, she learned the styles of classical drawing, watercolor and portraiture. This experience would soon come to shape her artistic style, instilling in her the strict, fundamental traditions of art. Work by the artist has been recently featured in the virtual exhibition Whether We Like It, on Arloopa (2021), Alone Together, at Flowering Rock Gallery (2020), Shimmer, at Boston Center for the Arts (2020), Areacode Art Fair, Boston, MA (2020).

Artwork by Jennifer Liston Munson. Jennifer Liston Munson received an MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts University, and a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and Loughborough College of Art and Design in England. In 2001, Liston Munson won the Traveling Scholars award which culminated with a show at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Her work combines high tech-low tech processes to expose invisible private and public histories. Her work was represented by the Judi Rotenberg gallery 2002–2011 and is currently represented by bk projects and is held in many corporate and private collections.
