Stoddard Conservation Commission / The Little Big Forest

Welcome to Fall

Summer is sadly drawing to a close, and with that said wanted to invite you to a “Welcome to Fall” Social hosted by Deborah Anderson and Terri LaRoche at, 128 Anderson Road on Sunday August 18th at 2:30 in the afternoon,  Cider (spiked and non) and light food will be served (and by light don’t misunderstand the term as literally almost nothing we ever make is low calorie). Why are we hosting this?  Well I will be entirely honest that Deborah and myself, along with others, are pretty passionate about the efforts the Stoddard Conservation Commission is making to raise money to save and protect The Little Big Forest (<a href="http://www.thelittlebigforest.com/" target="_blank">www.thelittlebigforest.com</a>).   Why are we passionate about it – our wildlife, our water quality our quickly disappearing shoreline in its natural state to name just a few reasons.  Although we are not on the Conservation Commission, they will be here and we would love for you to learn more about the project.  Deborah and I cohosted one last Month at her house for many in the  Anderson Rd. Association and it was such a wonderful opportunity for us to socialize with our friends and neighbors that sadly as we are all so busy on the Lake in Summer we rarely get to see.  Since then I have had the opportunity to attend two others, and I just LOVED meeting new people and hearing some of the fascinating history on this Lake  (and seeing one really cool boat restoration project that is in progress over on Shedd Hill)  - just such a sense of community that all too often we don’t have the opportunity to see.  So while I do know a few of you personally, and a few others through Facebook, I would love to make that personal connection to see you and enjoy some time together.  While in addition to some social fun, my hope is you see a benefit to the Little Big Forest efforts, but please note there is NO pressure put on anyone at these events, they have been SO fun!
