Dear Sprinters,
So far here this year in Central Iowa, the weather has been "in like a lion and out like a lamb". Let's hope it stays that way through the spring so that we have lots of training days before RAGBRAI.
All of us here in the Des Moines metro area are excited to bring you the current information for RAGBRAI and the final fees for this year’s ride. If you still want to get a wristband for RAGBRAI this year, registration closes on May 15.
Our numbers for RAGBRAI this year is still very strong at 45 riders so far!! We still have room in the 14-person bus to take Sprinters from Cedar Rapids to Glenwood (the start) and from Burlington (the finish) to Cedar Rapids.
I'm very excited to announce that we launched online registration for the first time in Team Sprint's 47-year history! We are using Zeffy (a free online registration platform for non-profit organizations) for this. Since the platform is free (we don't even have to pay for credit card transaction fees) 100% of your payments will go toward supporting our mission. Zeffy may ask you for a donation, which is absolutely optional and not required. Team Spring will be making a donation to Zeffy as a token of our appreciation and to help support their good work with non-profits around the world. You may also make additional donation to Team Sprint during your Zeffy-driven online registration, however this is also absolutely optional and not required.
Please keep in mind that these optional donations (as well as all payments to Team Sprint) are not tax deductible.
So, here is the breakdown of the total Team Sprint fees for this year's ride:
-Van ride from Cedar Rapids to the Glenwood (the start) $100 per person riding the bus
-Van ride from Burlington (the finish) back to Cedar Rapids $80 per person riding the bus
-Week long baggage and food fees $325 per person for the week
-Daily baggage and food fees for day riders $60 per person per day
The meeting place to get on the bus this year, at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids. Just like last year, they're allowing us to load and leave cars there for the week, and come back and unload at the end of the ride. We won’t have to shuttle cars to a remote parking area, this parking lot will be patrolled, and they’re letting us park there for free. We will get back to you later with exact location information for the parking and loading area.
We are still working on the t-shirts for this year’s ride and we'll get back to you when those are available. You'll be able to order those here on Zeffy separately later. We'll send you an email when they are ready to be ordered.
Happy Sprinting!
Regards,
-Sean T. Switzer, Treasurer
