"...a fearless entertainer who engages her audience with a gutsy, gritty, and vibrant performance.” Front Row Dave
From the time 13 year-old Marilyn Kirby first picked up a guitar -- a Kay bought with Green Stamps -- she has been writing songs to suit her strong, compelling voice and unique outlook on life. She played in the Boston 60’s Bands: The Apple Pie Motherhood Band and Catharsis. In the 80s, she had her own bands: the Black Cat Band and Marilyn Kirby and Some Guys - high-powered rock and roll with a sense of humor.
In 2019 she released her album "Year of The Phoenix." “The music jumps out of the speaker on the first note, and was instantly accessible...The production and musicianship are both superb!” --Tri-Valley Townsman.
Currently residing in Woodstock, NY, Marilyn Kirby performs as a solo artist, trio, and with a full band. She also does music therapy with Alzheimer's and dementia patients.
