Musical Theater Camp
My name is Rene Cooper, and my passion for the arts began at a young age when I first stepped foot in my local community center in Los Angeles, California. I was captivated by musical theater at Hamilton Music Academy, which eventually led me to pursue a four-year degree in Dance at the California Institute of the Arts. To further expand my knowledge, I also studied Early Childhood Education at a community college, which has greatly influenced my teaching career.
Since 2004, I have been teaching preschool and sharing my love for the arts with young learners. Currently, I am involved in teaching various classes at the Firmly Planted Homeschool Resource Center, where I also have the joy of homeschooling my son, Alec. In our upcoming summer camp, we will embark on a journey of singing, dancing, and acting, providing an enjoyable and enriching experience for all participants.
Throughout the camp, we will explore the art of storytelling through acting, encouraging campers to express themselves creatively and develop their confidence on stage. One crucial aspect we will emphasize is the power of observation, as it serves as the foundation for becoming a remarkable actor. By keenly observing the world around us, we can effectively bring characters and stories to life.
I am excited to guide our campers as they immerse themselves in the world of performing arts. With engaging activities and performances planned, this summer camp promises to be a memorable and transformative experience for everyone involved.
