As you may know, NHS of New Haven is a community-based organization on a mission to strengthen neighborhoods by developing affordable housing and increasing homeownership opportunities; providing homebuyer education and financial coaching; making homes safe, beautiful and energy efficient; and empowering residents to take charge of their communities. We will commemorate the past 18 months of service to local neighborhoods by recognizing, reflecting, and celebrating our continuous impact in the community, featuring a fine sit-down dinner, speeches from state dignitaries, and awards for remarkable residents and community partners who have shaped our work across the city and state. We will be celebrating our 45th Annual Meeting here at Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven at the wonderful Hotel Marcel on October 7th from 5:30 to 9pm. As a sustainability-focused non-profit dedicated to the New Haven community, we are excited to celebrate this momentous occasion at such an iconic New Haven venue that is the nation’s first zero-emissions LEED Platinum certified hotel. To celebrate, we will enjoy dinner with our neighbors, politicians &amp; local community leaders, partners, and various dignitaries while listening to speeches, such as one from the NeighborWorks America President and CEO, Marietta Rodriguez. Each department will then present awards to those who have made a huge impact in the work we do, from first-time homeowners to best-selling authors.
