These workshops are designed to help participants increase opportunities for active living and long-term quality of life, shaping communities and neighborhoods across Dearborn County. The Dearborn County Health Department is hosting this exciting workshop on May 21st, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm at Ivy Tech Community College-Lawrenceburg. The workshop will focus on public health, transportation infrastructure, land use, public spaces, and safety while connecting the audience with tools for analysis of their community. The daylong workshop will bring together city staff, community stakeholders, advocates, public health professionals, and civic leaders to learn about the benefits of designing for active living and strategies for success. The group will conduct an informal walk audit to assess the accessibility and condition of sidewalks and street crossings and prioritize built environment strategies to encourage active living for residents.
