The Ascension Convention is a JR & SR high youth convention sponsored by Christian Life College in Mt. Prospect, IL. This convention has been in existence for 30+ years.   Christian Life College is a non-denominational college. In fact they have a Christian Life College extension right here in Madison at City Church. Many pastors in Madison have done their Bible college studies through CLC. Their statement of faith is here. They put on this youth convention every year the Thursday evening, Friday, and Saturday morning before Easter. Because most schools cancel classes on Good Friday it works out for youth to attend and not have to miss any school. This year's speakers are: Dawson PerkinsDawson encountered Jesus in a prayer meeting at age fifteen and now spends his life mobilizing teens to pray. He began a national initiative called BOLD100 equipping teens to lead prayer meetings online, at their school, and in their local church. Dawson longs for Gen Z to know Jesus intimately and to experience supernatural miracles through prayer. Natalie LayneGrowing up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Natalie Layne was constantly surrounded by music. She learned to lead worship and write her own songs from several worship pastors, including Cory Asbury, Jon Egan, and Jared Anderson. Currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee, Natalie writes, co-produces, and releases her own music.
