Conversational French for AdultsFormat: 8 sessions, 1 hr 15 minutes each October 26th - December 21stCourse DescriptionConversational French for Adults is a welcoming space for learners who know some French and want to start talking more. Through guided conversation, games, role-play, and real-life scenarios, students will gain confidence speaking French in a supportive, low-pressure setting, with little or no English. The focus is on communication, not perfection. Mistakes are part of the fun, and every voice is welcome at the table. Each class builds on familiar language while adding new vocabulary, expressions, and conversational strategies.Who Should JoinThis course is designed for learners at an A2 (high beginner) level or above. If you can introduce yourself, talk about your daily routine, and handle simple everyday exchanges in French, even slowly and with a few pauses, you're ready! The course is a great fit if you studied French in school, are returning to the language after a break, or understand more than you can say and want to grow your speaking skills. Instructional ApproachLessons use a scaffolded immersion approach. Each conversation is supported with visuals, sentence starters, key vocabulary, and repetition, so students always have the tools they need to take part. Activities may include partner and small-group conversations, role-play of everyday situations, discussion games, short listening activities, and conversations about culture and current topics from across the French-speaking world. Course GoalsBy the end of the eight-session course, students will be able to hold short, everyday conversations with more ease and confidence. They will be able to ask and answer questions, share opinions and experiences, describe people, places, and events, and use strategies to keep a conversation going: asking for clarification, rephrasing, and finding another way to say something.
