Ragen is an internationally recognized speaker and thought leader on all things weight science, weight stigma, and healthcare. Ragen has planned a comprehensive overview of these topics for the EDCI provider community.
Objectives
1) Upon completion of this learning activity, learners will be able to define and recognize the various types of weight stigma and bias, explain their impact on eating disorders patients, practitioners, and caregivers, and reduce or eliminate weight stigma and bias in their practices
2) After completing this training, participants will be able to distinguish between the weight-centric and weight-neutral paradigms and explain and apply the current weight science research to them in order to provide ethical, evidence-based care.
3) Upon completing this workshop, learners will be able to select and employ weight-neutral methodologies in their eating disorders practice.

Continuing Education
Social Workers/Counselors: Six credit hours of continuing education have been approved by the NASW IA.
Psychologists: EDCI is providing a certificate of attendance for 6.00 CE hours for participants who attend the full conference.
Dietitians: Continuing education hours have been approved for 6.00 CPE by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Full attendance is required.
Nurses: Des Moines Area Community College is an Iowa Board of Nursing

No partial attendance credit will be awarded.
