Wednesday After School Enrichment is from 12:00-2:00 for our K-5 students. &nbsp;&nbsp;K-2 students will participate in an educational and engaging program lead by their classroom support teacher. &nbsp;This will include Arts and Crafts, Board Games, themed activities, and outside games as well as guest speakers from our school and community.Students in grades 3,4,5 will have an opportunity to choose a different activity each Wednesday which may include, Art, Soccer, Origami, Karaoke, Board Games, Science Projects and Yoga. &nbsp;We will also have guest speakers from our community come and speak to us.Early Pick up/Not attending EnrichmentIf your child is not going to be attending Enrichment please send an email to the classroom teacher and copy the front office in your email. &nbsp;If you plan to pick up your child at 12:00 and have not sent an email, you must first sign your child out in the front office.&nbsp;Behavior-In order to participate in the SCS Enrichment Program you must be able to maintain good behavior. &nbsp;Our classroom teachers and counselors are attending meetings during enrichment which means we are limited on resources for behavior issues. &nbsp;Students must be able to maintain good behavior during all parts of their enrichment class. &nbsp;We will be using a 3 strikes system; you will be notified by the enrichment teacher if your child receives a strike. &nbsp;After the third strike, your child will no longer be able to participate in the enrichment program. &nbsp;In addition behavior in school will also affect participation in the Enrichment Program. Students must be able to maintain safe, kind, and responsible behavior every day at school. Students who are not choosing to be kind, safe, and responsible at school will need to take a break from the Enrichment Program for the remainder of the quarter after 3 warnings. Parents will be notified of behavior issues and of removal a week in advance by email from the counseling/behavior team. Please complete a separate form for each child Wednesday afternoons are a special time at Sigsbee Charter School. &nbsp;The teachers become learners, and our campus is turned into a mecca of cultural arts. &nbsp;Dismissal occurs at 12:00 every Wednesday for students in grades K through 5. &nbsp;Elementary children have the option of spending the afternoon with a parent or enrolling in some of our extraordinary enrichment classes. &nbsp;Our classes are offered for a nominal fee ($50/quarter) that pays for our visiting instructors and materials. &nbsp;Any additional funds are used for scholarships and to purchase materials needed for our school programs. &nbsp;Wednesday programs usually include classes such as: art studio, cheerleading, intramurals, performing arts, science, Spanish, soccer, tennis, and Study Buddies.&nbsp;During enrichment, the classroom teachers are involved in professional development with the principal and collaborate with their team members. &nbsp;They study the craft of teaching while working together to create new educational programs or refine current practice. &nbsp;They model for students that learning is a lifelong endeavor. &nbsp;Meetings include professional book study, webinars, curriculum mapping, curriculum articulation, and learning from consultants. &nbsp;The focus is always on the children. Continued participation in enrichment requires stellar behavior. &nbsp;We are fortunate to have highly qualified visiting instructors running our programs and want to maintain our Sigsbee Pride. &nbsp;Students who do not behave appropriately will be asked to forego enrichment, and the remainder of their fee will be returned.
