The Amazigh New Year Celebration is Returning to Boston! Join us on January 10, 2026, for a festive gathering marking Yennayer, the Amazigh people&rsquo;s New Year, a celebration observed for centuries to celebrate the beginning of the agricultural calendar. In Boston, Yennayer has been celebrated since the late 2000s, uniting the community through live music, cultural dances, traditional pastries, and refreshments, alongside workshops and presentations that showcase Amazigh history and traditions. These cultural expressions honor both the significance of Yennayer and the long lasting contributions of the Amazigh people to North African heritage. The celebration also offers a unique chance to learn about Tamazight, the Amazigh language, its Tifinagh script, and current efforts to preserve and promote it. Open to all, the event promises a festive and educational experience for all ages, fostering community, pride, and cultural exchange among Amazigh people in the diaspora and anyone interested in this ancient North African culture. Free tickets for children under 15.
