H. 'Cathy's Clown' is a Chick Wasitis introduction, registered in 2011. It forms a large, upright mound of heart-shaped leaves, green with irregular creamy-yellow to white margins. It has been offered here in the past and on the Facebook auction but only about a dozen plants have left home. Starting bid

This thick and tough seedling from Rob James comes up bright and becomes a beautiful blue streaker. It's in way too much sun in Rob's garden, but holds up great. These OP seeds should provide some great blue streakers with that same thick substance. Offered is 100+ OP seeds from the pictured seedling. Seeds are cleaned, not dewinged.
H. 'Night Owl' item

This probable tetraploid hosta from Doug Beilstein, has the typical great substance and wide margins you’d expect. As a younger plant the leaf center is broader, gradually narrowing to several bolts of creamy white spikes. It has been a very good grower for us here at Green Hill Farm. Bob Solberg will ship in the spring.

H. 'Uncle Albert'
$50

Starting bid

A Chick Wasitis introduction registered in 2008, (H. hypoleuca × H. kikutii var. caput avis). It forms a large mound of green leaves with white wax on the reverse and rippled edges. Registered as 50" wide and 14" tall, with leaves 14" long and 9" wide. It produces very large 'bird's head' flower buds, and a mature plant will often have many flowers that open at once, sometimes forming a large ball. Some flower heads are so heavy that they need support. A very good breeder that has produced some excellent seedlings, including 'Miss American Pie', 'Purple Rain' and others. Never tc'd. Chick will ship a 2-3-eye OS plant.

This (Ice Age Trail x Clear Fork River Valley) seedling was created by Bob Geske in his great hybridizing program. As you can see those nearly round and gorgeous streaked leaves make it a great plant to use in a well advanced breeders program or a perfect plant for a newbie. It is a vigorous plant that is great for making crosses. Offered is 175+ of open pollinated seeds from donor Rob James that have been cleaned, not dewinged. Similar lot also listed in Session Two!

SEEDS (H. 'Dorothy Benedict' x OP)

This wavy streaker always gets donor Rob James' attention among all his amazing hostas. He is working on making it one of his primary hybridizing plants. There are lots of unknown genes over the past few generations mixed in with those Dorothy Benedict roots. Up for auction is a 100+ pack of open pollinated clean seeds, not dewinged from this unnamed streaked seedling out of ((Dorothy Benedict x op) x op). Similar lot also listed in Session Two!
H. 'Breakwater' item
H. 'Breakwater'
$25

Starting bid

New in 2025 from Green Hill Farm. Medium. This striking hosta from Randy Goodwin has a Hosta montana background but is the perfect size for the hosta bed. Not too big, not too small… It emerges with bright yellow margined blue-green leaves that fade to white in summer. Certainly, a bright hosta addition to the collection. Donated by Bob Solberg for delivery in the spring.
H. 'Bloodline' item
H. 'Bloodline'

Starting bid

No AI here! A hybrid of a 'Tequila Sunrise' seedling x 'First Blush' from Doug Ruff that colors deep burgundy-red across the entire leaf. The most saturated color develops with cool night temperatures and some direct sun. A vigorous grower that holds its color until mid summer here in Iowa. Forms a mound about 14" tall and 24" across. Grown in a one quart pot. To be shipped in mid-late May by donor In The Country Garden & Gifts.

This non-registered cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Sand Pebbles' from Rick Goodenough of Massachusetts. It is an upright, large size plant about 24 inches high with green foliage with streaked variegation. Donated by Cochato Nursery, photo credit Lazy Toad Farm.
H. 'White Christmas' (Mobjack Form) item
H. 'White Christmas' (Mobjack Form)
$30

Starting bid

This is the form of 'White Christmas' sold by Mobjack Nurseries, a wholesale grower in Virginia. The original 'White Christmas' is generally considered delicate and difficult to grow. An article in a past issue of the 'Hosta Journal' states that the Mobjack plant should probably be given a different name because it is apparently a tetraploid form, but that's unlikely to happen. This form is much easier to grow. Chick Wasitis has been growing it in Virginia and Maryland for over 20 years and has never had a problem with it melting out in the summer. Prefers a bright but not sunny location. Very striking in the garden. He will ship a plant with at least 3 eyes.
H. 'Bluebigwa' item
H. 'Bluebigwa'
$24

Starting bid

NEW from Green Hill Farm!!! Large. This is another stunning large blue hosta from Charlie Kwick. It has the classic heart–shaped leaf shape, puckering, and clump habit we all admire with a unique rich blue color that saturates the very large leaves. It grows well, too. Donated by Bob Solberg for spring shipping.
H. 'The Diplomat' item
H. 'The Diplomat'
$30

Starting bid

NEW at Green Hill Farm!!! Small. There is nothing that attracts your attention in the hosta garden more than a “white hosta”. Possibly a tetraploid sport from Randy Goodwin’s ‘The Ambassador’, ‘The Diplomat’ has a very wide margin that emerges cream in spring and then becomes pure white in summer. It is perfect for that narrow hosta bed along a brick walk. Donated by Bob Solberg for spring delivery.

Pictured is the unstreaked version of Mary Chastain's (of Lakeside Acres Nursery in Tennessee) introduction noted for its cherry red petioles. It has shiny, slightly wavy leaves and forms a medium size plant about a foot high by 2 feet wide. The fragrant, lavender flowers are borne in July. The clump has an upright form. The streaked sport is donated by Cochato Nursery for spring shipment.
H. 'Zebra Print' item
H. 'Zebra Print'
$25

Starting bid

(Heemskerk/D. Van Eechaute) [S-M] Another sport of Hosta 'White Feather Improved' with narrow, ruffled leaves. 'Zebra Print' emerges creamy-white in the spring, before gradually turning green from the leaf center, and finally radiating through the veins. Hosta 'Zebra Print' stays a bit smaller than its parent, but as a tetraploid, holds up better than similar plants. Donated by Mason Hollow Nursery for spring shipment.
H. 'Silver Platter' item
