It&nbsp;is a tile-based game developed in 19th-century China, has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century, and is currently experiencing a tremendous surge in popularity. In this class you will learn standard American Mah Jongg according to National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) rules. After attending this class, you are welcome to join NBV&rsquo;s weekly open play Mah Jongg sessions held at the Davis Library on Tuesday afternoons. The class consists of four 2-hour lessons led by Deborah Bloch, an NBV neighbor and avid Mah Jongg player.&nbsp;The cost of the series is $15. The lessons are on Sundays, November 2, 9, 16, and 23, from 3pm to 5pm in the&nbsp;lower level meeting room at&nbsp;Davis Library, 6400 Democracy Blvd, Bethesda. American Mah Jongg is played with a card that the NMJL releases every April. If you plan to play online or in-person outside of the library, it is recommended that you have your own card. You may order the card in class; the card costs $15.
