Travel Visions Aloha Adventure at Ho‘omaluhia Botanical Gardens Saturday, April 12, 2025 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM Meeting Point: Kahua Kuou Parking Lot (not the Education Center) Join Travel Visions Aloha for a peaceful, sensory-rich day at Ho‘omaluhia Botanical Gardens as we explore the vibrant India and Sri Lanka garden sections—featuring lush tropical trees, fragrant spice plants, and stunning blooms. This is a relaxed outdoor adventure designed for connection, exploration, and fun. This guided experience includes 1:1 trained sighted volunteer guides, a knowledgeable garden staff member, support from the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunrise, Just Serve, and our dedicated TVA event team and returning volunteers. We’ll meet at the Kahua Kuou parking lot (not the Education Center). Please tell your Handi-Van or driver to drop you off at the Kahua Kuou lot and look for the Travel Visions Aloha pop-up tent. It will be clearly visible and provide shade as we gather. We chose this location to avoid the steep, uneven trail from the Education Center. The path is unpaved, with plenty of shaded areas. Braille signage is still in place near the lake from our previous visit. We’ll have limited tables and chairs, so please bring a towel, picnic blanket, or portable chair, bug spray and sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a light cover-up, and comfortable walking shoes (trails may be muddy). Catered lunch will be served at 12:30 PM near the parking area. We’ll also bring bread to feed the fish, adding a fun auditory element for those interested in walking down to the lake. An optional lakeside walk will be available for those who want to continue exploring. Bonus!
