Asians for Collective Liberation in Spokane

This event is open to all. Family members, friends, allies of Asians and Asian Americans, and other BIPOC community members are warmly welcome to join us. Join Asians for Collective Liberation and Inland Northwest Land Conservancy for a guided nature walk through Palisades Park. Led by one of INCL&#39;s hike docents Chris Moore, we&#39;ll explore the park&#39;s remarkable geology, local ecology, wildlife corridor, and the many stories that have shaped this landscape over millions of years. Along the way, we&#39;ll slow down, observe the world around us, and reflect on our own connections to place through guided conversation and mindful moments in nature. Whether you&#39;re new to hiking or a seasoned outdoor enthusiast, this walk offers an opportunity to learn, connect with community, and experience the outdoors from new perspectives. This event is part of Asians in the Outdoors, a community program by Asians for Collective Liberation that creates welcoming outdoor experiences for Asians and Asian Americans to connect with nature, build community, and foster a sense of belonging in outdoor spaces.&nbsp; About Palisades Park:Palisades Park in Spokane offers several trail options ranging from easy to moderate. The most popular main loop spans about 3 miles with only ~100 feet of elevation gain, taking roughly 3 hours to complete.&nbsp; Parking: We will be meeting at the parking area at the intersection of Greenwood Road and Rimrock Drive. Required items: Comfortable walking shoes, water bottle, maybe a hat.&nbsp;If there are barriers to obtaining any of these items, please email lmolina@aclspokane.org at least 7 days prior to the AO (Asians in the Outdoors) trip and let us know what items you need and your size (if applicable).&nbsp; We will provide sunscreen.&nbsp; Signed waivers are required to confirm your reservation.
