Dec. '24 Lock-in - Regis Middle School

Who's ready for the annual lock in at Regis?!?  December's troop event is all about building friendships and making memories without having to set up a tent or put on your rain gear. Some scouts refer to the lock-in as the "forbidden fruit" event because, electronics are allowed! Adults and scouts, please pay attention to the information below, because there are some changes to our normal monthly routine. In order to attend any scouting overnight or camping trip, sign up is required. We need to be able know who is coming for meal planning and accountability purposes.

Where are we meeting: Regis Middle School - We will meet at Regis Middle School Gym. No bus ride this month. Parents will need to drop off and pick up scouts at Regis. You still need to check your scout(s) in & out, (and yourself too - if you're going to stay)

What are we going to do: A LOT! It's only 11 hours but we pack it full: Board games, card games, video games, basketball, bounce house and maybe a game of dodgeball: scouts vs. adults. We may even watch a movie towards the end of the night/morning so a few of us close their eyes for a little while. The troop will provide a 4th meal of pizza around 11PM.

Who can attend: Registered T42/422 scouts and adults can attend and stay overnight for the lock in. Cub Scouts, siblings or other guests may attend the event (provided they sign up), but must leave before 11PM. Hawkeye Council policy requires these limitations.

What do I need to bring:

-  Snack and drink: Expect to hear from the senior patrol leadership about specific snack and drinks to bring. When shopping for a snack, remember we are nut-free

- Athletic attire, with clean/dry shoes for the gym floor. It might be a good idea to bring pajamas or change of clothes.

- Scouts should also bring a pillow and blanket/sleeping bag for the movie and rest time toward the end of the night

- Video Games:

#1: Be prepared and bring everything needed for your system. That includes power strips, TV, charging cords. Everything. Also, Put your name on what you bring.

#2: All content/games must be scout appropriate and be approved by Mr. Peterson or Mrs. Wood. There is zero tolerance with this rule.

#3 Be a good scout and share. If you want to bring a video game, make sure it's a game you can share with other scouts at the lock-in. Be kind and courteous and let others play too.

Important times

- Drop off time: 7PM Friday at Regis Middle School Gymnasium - thecheck-in table is located just inside the building.

Pick up time: 6AM Saturday morning. Please do not be late!! Everyone who stays the night will want to get home.

Cost: There is no cost for this event, but scouts will need to bring a snack and drink to share.
