Have you ever wondered how honey gets from the hive to the jar? During this tour you'll head out to the beehives with a member of Stratford’s Apiary Team to get a firsthand look inside a living beehive.  You'll learn about the vital role they play in the food chain, how you can help protect them, and how the bees work and live together to produce the sweet rewards we love! Veils and equipment provided. Recommended age: 4 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

We're so excited to have you join us for an in depth look at a living beehive. Your tour date and time are listed above. Below is everything else you need to know. What to WearBe sure to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants with long socks that your pants can be tucked into and long sleeves. If it is extra hot, feel free to wear layers or bring a change of clothes to stay comfortable.  We will provide the veils.  WeatherThis is a rain or shine program so please dress for the weather.  If there is light rain, we will still go into the hives. If it's severe weather we won't be able to go into the outdoor hives, but we will have a model hive and a live observation hive in the barn that we can explore. Cancellation PolicyIf you need to cancel for any reason you have a couple of options:1. Notify us at least two weeks in advance of your cancellation and donate your registration fee - we will send you a donation acknowledgement letter for tax purposes 2. Notify us at least 2 weeks in advance and request a refund. Refunds take 5-10 business days to process. Cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to your tour are not eligible for a refund, but please let us know so we can plan accordingly.  Cancellation requests should be e-mailed to info@stratfordecologicalcenter.org.
