In collaboration with Give Us the Floor, this Beyond the Rainbow virtual&nbsp;panel explores how lesbians and queer women talk about identity, across generations and in real time. Timed for Lesbian Visibility Week, the conversation centers youth voices and asks a simple question: what language feels right now, and how did we get here? The panel will look at how terms shift, why some create connection while others create tension, and what it means for elders to listen to younger queer people as language evolves. It will also make space for disagreement, including debates around terms like &ldquo;queer&rdquo; and &ldquo;FLINTA,&rdquo; and how those conversations reflect broader questions about inclusion, history and community. Two moderators, one a millennial and one Gen Z, will lead the discussion with panelists from Gen Z to Gen X.&nbsp; ASL interpretation will be provided by Hands of Equality. Moderators:&nbsp; Anna DeShawn&nbsp;is your favorite queer radio personality. She is a social entrepreneur, storyteller, and community organizer known for her signature greeting, &ldquo;Family,&rdquo; while hosting her award-winning podcast, Queer News. The Queer News podcast is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, with video episodes on YouTube.&nbsp;Media has always been her passion, and in 2009, she turned that passion into reality when she founded E3 Radio. In 2021, she expanded her media reach by launching her podcast company, The Qube. In 2023, Anna was inducted into the Chicago LGBTQ Hall of Fame. She remains committed to telling the stories and playing the music that deserve to be heard. Eva Lynn Anderson is a law student at UMass School of Law and a Marketing Assistant with Give Us The Floor. As a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, their work centers on creating spaces where young people feel supported, empowered, and able to speak openly about their experiences. Her passion for this work comes from her own journey of navigating identity, community, and finding her voice at a young age. Panelists:&nbsp; Amanda Timpson&nbsp;is a public historian, the founder of Yesterqueers, a former television executive, and a Carrie Fisher-inspired sass factory who is passionate about celebrating the broad expanse of queer history. As the descendant of a long line of writers and raconteurs, storytelling is part of Amanda&rsquo;s DNA. She believes that restorative storytelling is our most powerful tool for connection, understanding, and change. She is a member of the NCPH, AHA, and PGA. Hunt has used her platforms in storytelling, public speaking and civic engagement to curate brave, inclusive spaces for social change for over 25 years. Kim&rsquo;s personal vision is to co-create the Beloved Community that MLK and others have dreamed about, and her mission is to ensure that all the co-creators are at the table. She is currently the Executive Director of Pride Action Tank (PAT), a project of AIDS Foundation Chicago, where she also serves as the Vice President of Special Projects and Innovation in the Policy &amp; Advocacy department. Kim drives the innovation, collaboration and learning necessary to make PAT a leader in improving the health, safety and progress of individuals and groups within the LGBTQ+ community. She has served on the AMA Foundation LGBTQ+ Health Fellowship Commission, was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Illinois Council on Aging and Illinois Commission on LGBTQ+ Aging Issues and by the Mayor to serve on the Chicago LGBTQ+ Advisory Council. Kim is a founding co-host of OUTSpoken LGBTQ Storytelling, a monthly show at Chicago&rsquo;s Sidetrack The Video Bar, a live commentator for the Chicago ABC-affiliate, WLS-TV, for the Chicago Pride Parade, and a former co-facilitator for the Aspen Young Leaders Fellowship program. Kim has a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in journalism, from Iowa State University, a master&rsquo;s degree in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master&rsquo;s degree in public policy studies from the University of Chicago. She resides in Chicago with her wife of 25 years and their dog, Jake, and has three adult children. Olive Okoro is a lesbian economist, human rights influencer with a platform of over 700k people, and the founder of the international nonprofit Queer Motherland.
