Join us for dinner with Alternative Spring Break Howard Students. Afterward, we will have a brief Alum general body meeting. Proceeds cover the cost of your dinner and students' meals. We are excited to honor students spending their spring break volunteering in the Philadelphia area!  Howard University Alternative Spring Break (HUASB) is a nationally recognized service-learning program for students of all faiths and backgrounds to embrace the Howard University motto of “Truth and Service.” Coordinated through the Office of the Dean of the Chapel and offered at no cost to students, this student-led University service initiative allows students to discover the power of ethical leadership, civic engagement, and communal responsibility.  The 30th Annual HUASB program will occur March 3-10, 2024. This year’s theme, “A Legacy of Paying it Forward: 30 Years of Service,” commemorates the three decades of service in communities throughout the globe. During this year’s program, Howard University students will serve in 25 domestic and international communities, focusing on various service initiatives, such as community development, developing pathways to food and housing stability, disaster resilience, education, holistic wellness, poverty, restorative justice, and youth empowerment.
