We have special permission to bird along the riparian corridor of Deer Creek and on the grounds of the Abbey in areas often kept off limits. Join us in exploring these areas of New Clairvaux. We will walk on very uneven ground and through tall grass at times for about 2-3 miles. Bring binoculars. Walking poles are helpful. Bring insect repellent and a supply of water and plenty of snacks for eating along the way. Eating is not allowed in the tasting room. After the AltaCal birding trip has ended by 11 a.m., Brother Luis will provide an optional tour of the grounds. Afterward, you are welcome to visit the tasting room. You may also take time to visit their historical wall to learn more about the Abbey. While a donation is not required for our tour of the Abbey, there is a charge for wine tasting if you choose to partake. Also, they are always willing to take donations, cash or check made payable to Abbey of New Clairvaux. Members of the winery can taste for free and include one other person. The wine tasting portion is not sanctioned by AltaCal Bird Alliance, but we still request you have a designated driver.
