Join us for &ldquo;Brazilian Connection&rdquo; featuring guitarist Gabriel Santiago 🎶 Experience Brazilian rhythms, rich harmonies, and improvisation as the Longmont All-Star Jazz Band performs compositions and arrangements by Gabriel, as they launch their inaugural &quot;Guest Artist Residency Series&quot;.&nbsp; The Longmont All-Star Jazz Band is a year-round jazz education 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on delivering a high-quality, professional, and fun experience for students in Northern Colorado. Founded in 2001 by legendary local music educator Bill Wilkinson, the All-Stars began performing locally, giving students in the greater Boulder County area the opportunity to perform pro-level music in a big band regularly. Churning out All-State caliber musicians annually, the All-Stars quickly became a cornerstone in Longmont&rsquo;s extracurricular music education for the students who excelled at what they loved. Throughout the All-Stars&#39; 25+ years in the area, we have placed alumni at Berklee College of Music, the University of Denver, the University of Colorado Boulder, and into professional performance and music education careers across the world.&nbsp; Gabriel Santiago, a native of Brazil, is a distinguished composer, arranger, and virtuoso on both acoustic and electric guitars. With a prolific career spanning 14 albums, including CDs and DVDs, Santiago has garnered acclaim for his compositions, hailed as &quot;stunners&quot; by JazzTimes Magazine. Renowned as &quot;a young master at both the acoustic and electric guitars&quot;, Santiago&#39;s musical journey includes invaluable mentorship from jazz luminaries such as Pat Metheny, Adam Rogers, and Maria Schneider. He is the recipient of numerous accolades, including the ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award, further highlighting his exceptional talent and contribution to the music industry. Notably, Santiago holds a Doctoral Degree in Music Composition from the University of Texas at Austin. His collaborations span a diverse spectrum of artists, from Chris Potter and Stefon Harris to John Clayton and Janek Gwizdala, from Odair Assad and Gilson Peranzzetta to Andr&eacute; Mehmari and Romero Lumbambo. He also had the honor of being the first artist to record with renowned recording engineer&nbsp;Rupert Neve&#39;s inaugural line of microphones. Beyond his instrumental prowess, Gabriel Santiago is a versatile composer, crafting music for a broad array of ensembles &ndash; from Symphony Orchestras to Jazz Combos, and everything in between.
